Description
Acetic Acid 0.6% – 3 mL Peptide Reconstitution Vial
Concentration: 0.6% acetic acid. Every vial contains a 0.6% (zero point six percent) acetic acid solution. This is a dilute laboratory diluent, not concentrated acid. Find it under Essentials on our research peptides page.
Label note: the vial artwork currently reads “Acidic Acid.” The contents are 0.6% acetic acid.
What Is Acetic Acid 0.6% Used For?
Most lyophilized research peptides dissolve readily in bacteriostatic water. Some, however, are poorly soluble at neutral pH and can clump, cloud or fail to go fully into solution. A dilute 0.6% acetic acid solution lowers the pH slightly, which helps many of these peptides dissolve. 0.6% is the strength most commonly used for peptide reconstitution in laboratory settings, and many researchers keep a vial on hand alongside their bacteriostatic water.

Acetic Acid 0.6% vs Bacteriostatic Water
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol and is the default diluent for most peptides; it is available in 10 mL and 30 mL vials. Acetic acid 0.6% is the specialist option for peptides that do not dissolve well in neutral solutions. Check the solubility notes for the specific peptide you are working with before choosing a diluent.
How to Handle Acetic Acid 0.6% in the Lab
Wipe the stopper with alcohol before each draw, use a fresh sterile needle and syringe, and add the diluent slowly down the side of the peptide vial rather than directly onto the powder. Swirl gently instead of shaking. Label the reconstituted vial with the date, diluent and concentration, and refrigerate it according to the peptide’s storage guidance.
Acetic Acid 0.6% FAQ
Is this the same as vinegar?
No. Household vinegar is roughly 5% acetic acid and is not sterile-filtered or packaged for laboratory use. This is a 0.6% solution in a sealed research vial.
How much does one vial reconstitute?
Each vial holds 3 mL. How much you use depends on the peptide and the concentration your research calls for.
Is it included in peptide deals?
Acetic acid is an Essentials item, so it is not part of peptide multi-buy offers. Shop it alongside the full research peptide catalog.
You can read more about peptide solubility and handling on PubMed.
Why Buy Acetic Acid 0.6% From Mycelia Link
We stock the diluents researchers actually need next to the peptides they work with, so you can order everything for a project in one cart. Each vial is crimp-sealed for clean, repeated draws, clearly marked as 0.6%, and ships within 1–2 business days with tracking. At $10 a vial, it is an easy add-on to keep on the shelf for the occasional stubborn peptide.
What else do I need for reconstitution?
Most researchers pair a diluent with sterile insulin syringes for measuring small volumes and a protective case for vial storage. You will find syringes, bacteriostatic water and the Peptide Vault storage case in the Essentials section of our peptides page.
Can I mix acetic acid with bacteriostatic water?
Some protocols start a difficult peptide in a small amount of dilute acetic acid and then bring it to final volume with bacteriostatic water. Whether that suits your work depends on the peptide, so follow the solubility guidance for the compound you are studying.
